Maxime surprised me last month when I asked if he wanted to try doing work on the tractor by himself, which was the first time. He jumped at the chance, and did really well.
But now, when I offered him the chance to try it again, to take the trailer to the field and dump the branches and leaves on the pile for burning in Fall, he said yes, to be sure, but Gabriel was also there, and he wanted to go to.
Haha! They didn't even wait for me to say anything. Maxime climbed on, and pulled Gabriel up after him. They were laughing. I think they pretty much expected me to say "no", that Gabriel is too young not to be with Papa only.
I told Gabriel to sit tight between the seat and the fender, and hold on. Anyway, I walked with them the whole way.
Gabriel just loved it, he was so happy; and Maxime backed up the trailer for the second time, and was astonishingly natural at it. I don't know if you have ever backed up trailers, but it is really counter-intuitive, and takes a pretty long time to learn usually. But Maxime does it like he has been doing it all summer. Neat.
