New riding boots - Gabriel a bit intimidated and proud at the same time
Gabriel seems pretty taken with riding. At least for now. Enough so, at any rate, that it was time to get him some proper riding boots and helmet. He loved the idea, so Natalya, me and Gabriel went to the sports store.
When he is excited, he is hard to pin down, so between a hat (we tried four until we got it right), and two pairs of boots, he was pretty wound up by the end.
He is proud to be trying these things, but at the same time he is a bit shy, and also intimidated, since it is a pretty big deal to him. Rarely do Mama and Papa go to a clothes store with him, altogether that is, to help him try something on. Especially with Papa. I guess Gabriel knew it was serious. :-)
We had lots of fun, though, and so he does what he really likes here, namely to play touche-touche. Normally I would never do this in a store, but I made an exception today, since he was in such high spirits, I only wanted him to have a good memory of getting his first riding boots. ...instead of some rebuke from Papa for being too rambunctious in a shop....
Gabriel is a good chap (Maxime's phrase), and he knows he can let go from time to time, but mostly he knows when Papa is about to let him let go.
:-)
