Gabriel's cross

Gabriel, being named after the angel Gabriel, the strongest angel of all, means that it should come as little surprise that he takes his cross seriously, and does not like to be without it.

But the satin ribbon wore out, and we had to find another one close to how the original one was. So he had to be without the cross for a few days, as we were afraid the original one would give out and break, so we had to take it off while we hunted down the right green satin ribbon...

Well, Gabriel was happier than anything when he came down the other morning to find his cross lying on the kitchen table, with a new green ribbon on it. He put the cross around his neck right away, and was smiling from ear to ear.
