Halloween night
We went to the Goldsboroughs in the evening, to go trick or treating in Bob's neighborhood. We had gourment pizzas, and a special wine from his cellar, a Lynch Bages. This was in lieu of a basket of sweets, mind you, so it is fair and warranted.
Maxime was an Enlgish Guard, replete with a fantastic bearskin hat, thanks to Meresy. Super! Gabriel was Batman, a fact which cannot be claimed as a surprise for any members of his immediate family, he having worn the costume for days prior.
We went to quite a lot of houses. The houses are, on occasion, an event in themselves. With scary music playing out of speakers onto the lawn, eeiry lighting, giant cobwebs on trees, witches at the door, and the like.
Both boys were elated with their treasure trove of candies, and proceeded to eat two or three or twenty on the spot, when we returned to Bob's house afterward.
Meresy came with us to the Goldsborough's, and went all-out with her own costume, the Mad Hatter.
And when back at Bob and Olivia's, Maxime and Gabriel enjoyed giving out candies to those who rang the doorbell. An event almost equal to going from house to house themselves. They would take turns, each one wanting more than the other to answer the doorbell and offer the candy bowl to the astonishing panolpy of costumed children.
A great night for all. :-)
