Perhaps each of us has a little foible, a little gesture we make (the giveaway), when we get stressed.
For me, I tend to put my hand on my forehead and close my eyes.
One day, at the dinner table, we are sitting around chatting and having fun, and Maxime seemed kind of quiet, so I glanced over at him, as he sits next to me, just outside my peripheral vision, and I am taken aback to see him leaning forward, elbow on the table, hand on forehead. He is utterly motionless, with eyes closed.
When I realized what I was looking at -- a Papa imitiation, delivered with a spot-on, world-weary aplomb -- I thought I would asphixiate myself on the dessert pudding, I was laughing so hard.
Oh my goodness, we had such fun with it.
And sure enough, Gabriel caught on, and he likes to do it now, too. But, as you can see, a little smile invariably surfaces, no matter how hard he tries to do it serious-like, as his brother does.
