Maxime is back from camp !

Drove to Paris to pick up Maxime at Gare de Lyon train station. They were coming in on the train from Grenoble (Alps).
I found him on the quai, with a swarm of other campers and counselors.
"Oh, hi Papa", he said in such a sweet and tired voice.

He was happy, but very tired, I could see that.

We carried his knapsack and extras over to a stand, and got a bottle of water each. We were going to get a sandwich, it being 8.30 PM, and neither had had dinner, but we agreed to stop at a gas station on the long drive home instead.

He loves stopping at gas stations. Loves choosing something interesting from the shelves and bins and refrigerated cornucopias of exotic fruit drinks.

It was raining, and we got back to the car, and I took the photo above.

I thought he would sleep, but we stopped at a station not too far out of Paris, to refuel, and with a heated up 'ready pasta' and an icecream and a fruit drink, we drove off, and he found a new energy, which was great, because he could then tell me all about the camp.

It rained a lot there up in the Alps during that time unfortunately, but he still loved it. He comes back very calm, somehow a bit more mature. Still kind and soft, as he almost always is....

He fell asleep after about an hour of recounting his adventures, and we arrived home at around midnight-thirty....
