It is so bittersweet! It is just terrible! Where is our little boy????
I put my arms around him (often), and the sheer mass of his chest surprises me everytime. His swimming has developed him far and fast.
And, for the first time, he gets pensive, distant. "Sorry, what did you say, Papa?"....
And, we are sure the girl next to him in Chemistry class.... well, that he likes her a lot. He writes her name on things, but in scrambled fashion.
:-)
But while his physicality is rapidly transforming him into a young man on the outside, and although he is not always as "present" as before, he is still the sweetest boy, our dear Maxime. Kind, courteous, gentlemanly, loving.
And, for those who know him well, the monkey side of him is a present as other, and I dare say that will never go anywhere at all, and will always be, no matter his age, just beneath the surface, ready to make people laugh with one antic or another.
You see! These days, sometimes you have this standing before you...Someone who looks like they just matriculated at University
...while on other days you have this: Court Jester No. 1, playing with Court Jester No. 2
