May I propose the following thought?: Only boys understand how fun wrestling is
Boys, I believe, can understand the subtleties and niceties of "playing house". Or, of playing "tea".
These quintissential girls' games are, after all, something that boys particpate in too, however short-lived and agonizing the trial. At some point in their childhood they are roped in by their sister, if they have one, or by girls from the neighborhood. While it is not something they are likely to repeat often, it is probably safe to say that almost all boys give playing house or tea a whirl at some point, even if just to impress a certain favorite local girl with their fledgling gentlemanly behavior.
But it doesn't seem to work the other way around. I don't know about you, but I have never in my life seen two little girls wrestling, and laughing like crazy doing it. It is just not the done thing in girly circles, apparently.
Which is just as well. Is it not nicer to be in an art museum alone, when you discover a painting of matchless elan, one you cannot take your eyes off of, and you wish everyone would just go away, so you can have it all to yourself, since they will never understand what this painting feels like anyway, otherwise why do they walk past it without a glance, which confirms you have a secret they cannot begin to fathom?
Same with wrestling. Only boys truly understand how importantly fun it is.
