From time to time in life, we are presented with something we really do not want to do.
Just today, I witnessed such an instance. Maxime did not want to put on his sweater, even though it was quite chilly outside.
"I am a Norman, Papa, I don't need a sweater."
"Yes, I understand, but you were born in Prague, and I don't think the Vikings actually made it that far. Nonetheless, you need to put on your sweater."
MAXIME: "I will just wrap it around my waist."
"No, you will put it on."
"Papa!"
"No, 'Papa!'. The sweater."
"Hummmf."
"Okay, look here's the deal. Either you put on the sweater, or you can leave the sweater off, and slip on these pink slippers of your sister. Your choice. But when we go out, you will be wearing one or the other."
"Papa!"
"Slippers? Okay, fantasic! They are going to look terrific on you, Maxime. They are so Girrrrly."
"Girrrrrly!".
Hahahaha.
PAPA: "Maxime, my friend, it's either the sweater or the slippers."
Well, from the lesser of two evils, he chose the yellow sweater, instead of the pink slippers.
He is smart that way.
Negotiating. Still trying to get out of putting on the sweater.
Turns away laughing.
Finally: he has donned his sweater !
And how close it was, ladies and gentleman! We were almost going to witness Maxime in public, wearing these doozies.
