Pillow fights ... every night at Meresy's
Every night, the boys not only failed to complain about having to go to bed, but they positively looked forward to it.
They had come up with a nightly event: the pillow fight.
Sometimes they fought in pajamas. Sometimes buck naked. And sometimes, as below, a combination of the two.
They don't fight hard, of course, Maxime sees to that. But Gabriel sometimes gives the pillow a real whirl, trying to be as strong as Maxime, I suppose.
But the funny thing is this: they apologize when they throw the pillows. As in: wind up the pillow, throw it, then say: "So sorry!".
I guess that is how English gentlemen conduct themselves during a pillow fight? Or two polite French boys? Hahahaha! Too funny!
One day, when the Goldsboroughs came over for dinner, Robert was taken by the hand by Gabriel, and led upstairs to have the requisite pillow fight. They were up there for a while. When they came back down, all red-faced and smiling, Robert said, shaking his head:
"It is the darndest thing. Every time Gabriel would throw a pillow at me he would say 'Sorry!'".
