Neither the boys nor I had been to this beach before. But Natalya had, and she told us it was beautiful. I was prepared, I guess, but not really.
It is a private enclave, really, with the ruin of an old fisherman's chapel above on the cliffs. We were close to alone here for the day. The expanse of beach is immense. I think about half a kilometer.
The boys and Dickens climbed a cliff (not the face, don't worry). So I climbed up after them to take a photo. This photo, the first one on this blog entry, is one of the best of the boys I have seen. They were so happy up there together. The photo captures them so well.
And there were endless streams of running water through the sand plain, and this was heaven for Maxime, and his waterwork constructions.
Gabriel, for his part, was also delighted to discover there was something bespoke for him as well: a thin, still layer of water over smooth sand, which was perfection itself for him to pull his boat through the water.
An amazing place and an amazing day.
