Lucky Charms, Lego constructions, and shopping for picnic

This has happened before. To be woken up by the little one, ever so quietly. A head on the shoulder. Vaguely awake now. Then, in a very, very low whisper:

"Lego, Papa?"

And there it is! It's 7.00 AM, and time to make Lego !

He likes when I give him the pieces, the preparation, and he puts them together. It is more efficient that way. He's very sharp with the directions now. Can make out the construction much faster than I can !

We made a Batman (his favorite) boat. There was Robin, too. I get to be Robin. But you guessed that.

He's very generous, though. Always making sure I get to play with all the nice pieces. Like missiles.

"You want play with missiles, Papa?

Meaning: I will give you the cool missiles, so you can have them.

If I say "no, it's okay", he insists anyway, and gives them to me, and won't take them back.

That is Gabriel.

Gabriel making Lego:

Maxime comes in a bit later.... To make Legos, but also for the LUCKY CHARMS !

:-)

Maxime: Lucky Charms with milk. Of course. This is the right way.

The event of the day. I had an idea ....

"Maxime, would you like me to teach you how to shave?"

"Okay!"

He loved the idea.

It was really fun. Gabriel couldn't believe it. He wanted shaving cream, too.

Oh gosh. What a bittersweet moment.

I kept telling Maxime not to grow, pushing down on his shoulders. And he and Mama would laugh. And he just didn't listen!

:-)

Gabriel likes to add gel for his hairstyling.

**SHOPPING**

Today: a picnic.

But first, to shopping, so they can pick out what they want on their sandwiches....

Trying Wellies

A new sunhat for Gabriel

A brief but fun game.
(You should try it at home.)

We pick out stuff, nice and tacky, and suggest that it would be perfect for the other one.

As in:

"Maxime, this shirt would be perfect for you."
(Although it is a pink girl's shirt with ruffles at the sleeves.)

Or:

"Gabriel: this would fit you just right." (and is a Men's size XXL and covers his entire body when he holds it up to himself.)

Gabriel loves this game.

"Here Papa. This is a good one!" (showing me some horrendous pair of pants)

SHOPPING CART

But if we had to choose a favorite, from their point of view, of today's shopping outing events, why don't we just move THE SHOPPING CART to the top of the list, shall we?
