When to eat donuts

We got plenty of things for our picnic at the store!

We sure did. Yessiree.

But, donuts, see, especially Krispie Kreme with chocolate on top, are a curious case. When, exactly, is the right time to eat them?

Before the main course, or after?

The funny thing is, I came down firmly for 'before', but Gabriel was not buying what I was selling.
